MITIE Group PLC ('MITIE') announces the sale of its 82.79% stake in its
subsidiary MITIE Powered Access Ltd ('Powered Access') to a management buyout
team led by Grant Woodward, the current managing director of Powered Access.
Powered Access specialises in hiring out powered access platforms and is based
in Maidenhead, with five depots across the country. The buyout terms are
extended to other, individual shareholders.
The total consideration of £1,878,650 is being met by cash and loan notes.
MITIE's share of the consideration will be £1,107,036 in cash, and £448,264 in
loan notes totalling £1,555,300. The loan notes are redeemable in three
instalments on 31 March 2003-2005.
The sale of Powered Access will have no material effect on the overall
financial results of MITIE.
Ian Stewart, Chief Executive of MITIE Group PLC, comments 'This marks a
strategic change away from a capital intensive activity which we no longer
regard as part of our core business.'
