Board Appointments

M J Gleeson Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Jukes and
Steve Davies to the Board as Executive Directors with immediate effect.

Bob Jukes, 62, joined Gleeson in 1961 and is a Fellow of the Institution of
Civil Engineers.  He joined the Group as a Site Engineer in the Engineering
Division and over the years has progressed through the posts of Chief
Engineer, Project Manager and Contracts Manager responsible for the Group's
Sewage and Water Treatment activity.  In 1990 he was appointed as a Divisional
Director of the Engineering Division and in 1998 took over as Divisional
Managing Director.  Bob is also a Director of Mabey Construction Co Limited, a
wholly owned subsidiary of the Group.

Steve Davies, 49, joined the Group in September 1999 as Managing Director of
the Property Division.  Steve has 20 years experience in the development of
commercial property most recently with Grantchester Holdings Limited and
London and Metropolitan plc and as a consultant within the commercial property
sector.

There are no disclosures under section 16.4b of the listing rules relating to
either of these appointments.

Only Steve Davies has previously been a Director of a publicly quoted company,
having been a Director of London and Metropolitan plc from 1985 to 1998.
