GLEESON HOMES WINS FURTHER TOP AWARD
FOR BROWNFIELD HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Gleeson Homes, a part of M J Gleeson Group plc, the construction services
housebuilding and property group, has won yet another top award for a housing
development on a brownfield site. In the past year, it has won more major
awards for brownfield development than any other developer.
The latest is a gold in the Sunday Times What House? Awards for Bramwell
Gardens, Sheffield, which is a partnership between Gleeson Homes, North
British Housing Association and the South Yorkshire Housing Association, with
support from English Partnerships. The development replaces low-rise tower
blocks near the city centre and provides 122 homes as two bedroom apartments
and 2/3 bedroom houses.
In 1999, Gleeson Homes won two golds in The Sunday Times What House? Awards
for a brownfield development at Cornish Place, Sheffield. This year to date,
it has won a total of seven awards, all for brownfield developments.
'This remarkable series of awards is confirmation that Gleeson has achieved
its goal of establishing the gold standard against which brownfield
development throughout the country is measured', says the Managing Director of
Gleeson Homes, Clive Wilding.
