                MIDAS INCOME & GROWTH TRUST PLC (the 'COMPANY')

                 RESULT OF PLACING AND OFFER OF NEW C SHARES

The Board announces that it has received commitments and applications to
subscribe for 21,647,145 New C Shares with an aggregate value, at their Issue
Price, of £21.6 million pursuant to the Placing and Offer for Subscription.  The
maximum size of the Placing and the Offer had been set so as to minimise the
risk of having to scale back commitments and applications.  Accordingly, all
commitments and applications will be satisfied in full.

The Placing and Offer remain conditional on the special resolutions to be
proposed at the extraordinary general meeting of the Company which has been
convened for 8 March 2007 and the admission of the New C Shares issued pursuant
to the Placing and Offer to the Official List and to trading on the London Stock
Exchange's Main Market (such admissions are expected to become effective on 9
March 2007).
