Appointment of Director

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Tigue as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 30 September 2014.

Mr Tigue stepped down as the fund manager of Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust PLC earlier this year after seventeen years and is retiring from F&C Management on 30 September 2014 after thirty-three years. He is currently chairman of BACIT Limited (Battle against Cancer Investment Trust) and is a director of Graphite Enterprise Trust PLC and The Mercantile Investment Trust plc. He was a director of the Association of Investment Companies from 2003 to 2013.

The Chairman of Monks, James Ferguson said: "I am delighted that Mr Tigue has agreed to join our Board.   He has extensive experience of the management of investment trusts."

The appointment of Mr Tigue falls to be ratified by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in 2015.

There is no further information required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
