Lovell awarded £45m social housing contract and appointed to Scottish housing frameworks valued at £210m

 

Morgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration group, today announces that Lovell, its affordable housing business, has been selected by West Lothian Council to deliver a new-build social housing contract valued at £45 million.

 

Under the contract, Lovell will build 545 council homes for social rent at towns in West Lothian, including Whitburn, Bathgate and Livingston, over a 30-month period. Construction work is set to start in January 2011.

 

Lovell has also been chosen as a contractor on two affordable housing frameworks in Scotland, valued at £210m.  It has been appointed by Glasgow City Council for the second phase of redevelopment of the Maryhill Locks site. The framework, valued at £75 million, runs for a three-year period and involves the development of up to 700 new homes.  Lovell has also secured a position on a £135 million framework across Scotland's central belt. The framework, set up by Places for People, the property management, development and regeneration business, aims to deliver up to 1,500 new homes over a four-year period.
