Morgan Sindall JV financially closes Doncaster NHS LIFT
Morgan Sindall announces that as part of Community Solutions for Primary Care
(Holdings) Limited ('CSPC'), a joint venture between Morgan Sindall Investments,
Apollo Medical Partners and Barclays European Infrastructure Fund, it has
achieved financial close on the Doncaster NHS LIFT (Local Improvement Finance
Trust) project.
Together with Doncaster's three Primary Care Trusts ('PCTs'), Doncaster
Metropolitan Borough Council ('DMBC') and Partnerships for Health, CSPC has
formed a public private partnership company called Doncaster Community Solutions
(LIFTCo) Limited ('DCS'). DCS has signed a 20 year strategic partnering
agreement to build and maintain a network of new health and social care premises
in the Doncaster area.
Morgan Sindall's construction business, Bluestone, has signed a framework
agreement with DCS and will design and build new health and social care premises
across Doncaster. Construction on the first wave of three buildings in Thorne,
Denaby and Sandringham Road is due to start in October 2005, the first of which
is expected to open in Autumn 2006. The anticipated value of construction works
is approximately £50 million over the initial five year period.
CSPC currently has similar long-term partnering agreements with three NHS LIFT
schemes in Barnsley, South East Hampshire and Camden and Islington.
Paul Smith, Group Chief Executive, said:
'This is another notable achievement, being the fourth NHS LIFT framework
agreement we have secured in the last two years.
With the next wave of NHS LIFT schemes recently announced, we look forward to
continuing our activity in this sector.'
