Mothercare plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Rex Peacock as a
non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1st August 2002. The

his appointment as non-executive director of Mothercare plc (1 August 2002).

Mr Peacock was a director of Kleinwort Benson Limited from 1985 to May 1994.
In January 1994 the company was publicly criticised by LIFFE (London
International Financial Futures and Options Exchange) regarding its futures
trading activities and fined £15,000. Mr Peacock was not directly
responsible for this area of business and was not publicly criticised
himself by LIFFE in relation to it.
