Mothercare plc announces that Mr Richard Street, a PDMR, has on 22
April 2009 exercised and retained 1,989 Mothercare plc ordinary 50p
shares following the maturity of a three year SAYE contract under the
Mothercare plc 2005 SAYE Share option scheme.

The SAYE options were originally granted at an option price of 282p
per share.
