Mothercare plc announces that Mr Richard Rivers, a non-executive director of the
company, on Monday 24th May purchased the following Mothercare ordinary shares:

3,000 shares at 518p per share,

Following this announcement Mr Rivers holds a total of 8,000 ordinary shares
equivalent to 0.009% of the total voting rights of the company.
