Mothercare plc announce that Mr David Williams, a non-executive director
yesterday purchased 5,000 Mothercare ordinary 50p shares at a price of 
376.9p per share.


Following this purchase, Mr Williams has an interest in 20,600 Mothercare
ordinary shares equivalent to 0.024% of the issued share capital.


Mothercare's issued share capital is 87,237,802 shares.
