Mothercare plc advise that Ben Gordon, Chief Executive of the Company, yesterday
purchased 41,159 ordinary 50p shares in Mothercare plc at a price of 89p per
share.

The total ordinary 50p shares in Mothercare held by Ben Gordon is 41,159 and
this is equivalent to 0.058% of the issued share capital.'





In the original announcement there was an arithmetical error in the calculation
of the percentage of the issued share capital. The percentage should have read
0.058% and not 0.58%
