Mothercare plc announces it has been advised by Threadneedle Group that
Ameriprise Financial Inc and its group have a notifiable interest.  The
notifiable interest comprises 4,536,096 ordinary Mothercare plc 50p shares
representing 5.143% of the voting rights.  The total interest is made up of
82,264 direct and 4,453,832 indirect voting rights.

This is based on Mothercare's issued share capital of 88,206,271 ordinary 50p
shares all with voting rights as at 1(st) December 2010 in line with the
Transparency Directive's ongoing disclosure provisions.
