Mothercare plc announce that Legal & General Group Plc (including its associated
companies Legal & General Investment Management Limited and Legal & General
Assurance (Pensions Management) Limited) have a notifiable interest in the
voting rights of Mothercare plc.


The notifiable interest comprises 3,955,231 or 5.39% of the company's voting
rights being a direct holding of 3,294,807 (or 4.49%) and an indirect holding of
660,424 (or 0.90%).
