Appointment of Senior Independent Director

Mothercare plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Rivers as its senior independent director with effect from 23 November 2012, replacing Bernard Cragg who is retiring as a non-executive director at the end of the year.

Alan Parker, Chairman, said "I am delighted that Richard is able to succeed Bernard as the senior independent director.  Richard has been one of our directors for more than four years and brings both experience and continuity to this important role.  I would also like to thank Bernard for his contribution and support during his time as SID."

Richard Rivers was appointed a non-executive director of the company in July 2008.  Richard Rivers is a non-executive director of Channel 4 Television Corporation and Lumene Oy, a member of the Advisory Board at WPP, and formerly Chief of Staff and Head of Corporate Strategy at Unilever.
