Notification of Major Interest in Shares - Capital Group

Mothercare plc announces that, in accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, it has been advised by Capital Group that it is changing the basis on which it reports relevant holdings. As of 1 September 2012, Capital Group will report in aggregate holdings for Capital Research and Management Company (CRMC) and Capital Group International Inc. (CGII).

As a result the number of shares held by Capital Group now comprises 5,230,000 ordinary Mothercare plc 50p shares, which represents 5.9003% of the issued shares with voting rights.
