PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES 

Molins Plc announces that, following the approval of shareholders at its Annual
General Meeting on 21 April 1999 to purchase up to 10% of the Company's ordinary
shares for cancellation, it purchased on 25 October 1999 from Cazenove & Co.
750,000 ordinary shares of 25p each at a price of 123.375p per share.
