                         PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Molins PLC announces that, following the approval of shareholders at the
Extraordinary General Meeting held on 31 March 2000 to purchase up to 15% of the
Company's ordinary shares for cancellation, it purchased on 11 April 2000 from
Cazenove & Co. 103,250 ordinary shares of 25p each at a price of 105p per share.
