Martin Currie High Income Trust plc
On 13 May 2005, Martin Currie High Income Trust plc (the "company") announced
recommended proposals for the voluntary liquidation of the company.
The company has today posted a circular ("circular") further explaining these
proposals and containing a notice convening an extraordinary general meeting
("EGM") of the company to be held at 10.00am on 24 June 2005 at the offices of
Martin Currie Investment Management Limited, Saltire Court, 20 Castle Terrace,
Edinburgh EH1 2ES. At the EGM, resolutions will be proposed to approve the
voluntary winding up of the company, to appoint liquidators for that purpose and
to give to the liquidators certain powers for the conduct of the winding up.
The listing of the ordinary shares of 5 pence each of the company on the
Official List of the UK Listing Authority and the admission to trading of those
shares to the London Stock Exchange will be cancelled with effect from 7.00am on
24 June 2005.
A copy of the circular has been submitted for publication through the Document
Viewing Facility of the UK Listing Authority.
