The National Grid Group plc (NGG)
New National Grid Group Directors Appointments Confirmed.
Following the completion of the acquisition by The National Grid Group plc
('National Grid') of New England Electric System (NEES), Rick Sergel and
Professor Paul Joskow were formally appointed to the National Grid Board on 27
March 2000.
Rick Sergel, aged 50, is an Executive Director, with responsibility for North
America. He will be President and Chief Executive Officer of National Grid USA
(formerly NEES). From February 1988 through to the merger, he served as
President and Chief Executive Officer of NEES. He has also been a Director of
State Street Corporation since 1999.
Paul Joskow, aged 52, is a Non-executive Director. He is a professor of
Economics and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and
Director of the MIT Center Energy and Environmental Policy Research. He is a
Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Fellow of
the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Professor Joskow served as a Director of New England Electric System (NEES)
from 1987 until the acquisition of NEES by National Grid. He is a Trustee of the
Putnam Mutual Funds, a Director of State Farm Indemnity Company, and a Director
of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.
There are no other details required to be disclosed by paragraph 16.4 of the
Listing Rules in respect of either Rick Sergel or Paul Joskow.
