Nationwide Building Society announces Non-Executive Director changes
After more than eight years on the board, Lynne Peacock, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee, will retire from Nationwide at the end of 2019. Lynne will be succeeded as Chair of the Remuneration Committee from 16 September by fellow non-executive director, Mai Fyfield. Mai has been on the board for four years and has been a member of the Remuneration Committee for the last 12 months. She was previously Chief Commercial and Chief Strategy Officer at Sky. The appointment of the Society's Senior Independent Director will be announced closer to the date of Lynne's retirement.
In addition, Nationwide Building Society welcomes Phil Rivett to the board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 September. Phil spent more than 40 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, retiring from his role as Chairman of Global Financial Services last year.
David Roberts, Chairman of Nationwide, said: 'Ensuring we have different perspectives around our board table can only strengthen our position to serve members now and in the future. We're very grateful for the insight and experience that Lynne has brought to this role and we wish her all the very best for the future. She has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the Society.
'I'm looking forward to welcoming Phil to the board and to working with Mai in her new role as Chair of the Remuneration Committee. We work very closely together as a board to set clear strategy and direction for the Society and I know that Phil and Mai will both play key roles in this.'
