Notification of transaction of PDMR and connected person

The Issuer announces that Northumbrian Water Share Scheme Trustees Limited, the trustee of the Issuer's Long Term Incentive Plan (the "Plan"), has today, 6 January 2009, transferred ordinary 10 pence shares in the Issuer to the person discharging managerial responsibility named below at nil cost, pursuant to the rules of the Plan. The transfer of shares is pursuant to a conditional award of shares made on 9 December 2005.  

Ceri Jones acquired 7,873 shares under the Plan, representing 0.001% of the Issuer's issued share capital. These shares have been transferred to Mrs K Jones. Mr Jones' beneficial and family interests in the Issuer now total 35,202 shares, representing 0.006% of the Issuer's issued share capital.

This notification is made in accordance with DTR 3.1.4R.
