Espoo, Finland - WidSets, a mobile content consumption, creation and
sharing service, now offers advertisers the opportunity to reach
customers around the globe with a single mobile advertising campaign.
WidSets has joined the Nokia Media Network, a premium advertising
network comprised of more than 100 leading mobile publishers, to
enable advertising experiences.
Â
The WidSets service, currently available in 56 languages and
featuring more than 5,000 widgets from brands such as Wall Street
Journal, Twitter and Foreca, now includes opportunities for
advertisers that want to drive traffic to their own mobile content.
By placing advertisements within the service, brands can reach
customers around the globe with a single campaign.Â
Â
"With more than 7 million registered members, WidSets now offers
advertisers a unique opportunity to target advertisements directly to
people through a device that is always with them," said Jarmo
Jokinen, director of WidSets, Nokia. "WidSets raises the bar from
today's mobile Internet experiences and makes it easier and more cost
effective for people to take their favorite online content, such as
news, social networks and games, with them anywhere."
Â
"WidSets underlines our ability to provide our brand clients with
richer consumer experiences and broader, coordinated reach across
multiple markets," added Mike Baker, vice president and head of Nokia
Interactive.
Â
Volvo and WWF, the global conservation organization, were named as
launch advertisers. Volvo has placed a campaign in Finland to drive
interest in the new Volvo XC60 before its launch later this year. WWF
has unveiled a "Stop climate change" awareness campaign that is
running on the start screen of WidSets globally.
Â
WidSets is available for more than 300 Nokia and non-Nokia devices.
Nokia also plans to embed the WidSets application on a range of
devices starting in Spring 2008, meaning an even wider distribution
and greater reach for advertisers.
Â
Brands can choose between driving traffic to their existing mobile
Internet properties or working with Nokia to build their own WidSets
mini-applications with supporting advertising and promotion.
Advertising can be targeted to people based on a range of factors,
including device type, language and content preferences.
Â
Nokia Interactive has an ambition for all consumers to have connected
mobile devices with rich and valuable services supported by relevant
and respectful advertising. The Nokia Media Network provides reach to
millions of mobile consumers through advertising on more than 100
blue-chip mobile publishers, operator partners and Nokia properties.
Hundreds of top brands, including BMW, Kraft and Paramount, advertise
on the network and use Nokia Interactive's award-winning mobile
marketing team to create end-to-end, high performance mobile
experiences for their customers.Â
