Annual General Meeting ("AGM")

The Board of Numis announces today, 3 February 2015, at its Annual General Meeting that Gerald Corbett, (non-executive Chairman) reported:

"2014 was an excellent year for Numis. Our financial performance was strong and we generated record revenues. This led to a significant year-on-year increase in profitability and earnings per share which enabled us to recommend an increase in the final dividend, bringing the total dividend for 2014 to 10.5p (up 17% on 2013).

This financial performance was underpinned by the strength of our client relationships with both corporates and institutions alike. During a year which saw improved market sentiment and confidence amongst UK plc, Numis was, once again, at the forefront of equity fund raising in the UK.  The strength of our franchise was demonstrated in the 2014 Thomson Reuters Extel Survey in which Numis was voted Number 1 UK Small and Mid Cap Brokerage Firm by both companies and institutions for the second year in succession. Our financial performance in the year and the strength of our reputation is testament to the quality and commitment of our talented people.

Since the start of the 2015 financial year we have successful completed twelve equity finance transactions and a number of advisory mandates despite the lower level of corporate IPO and M&A activity, driven in part by the forthcoming general election. While we remain sensitive to lower levels of market-wide activity, our deal pipeline is strong and includes both fund raising and M&A prospects for the coming year. 

We will continue to strengthen our franchise through a relentless focus on building and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients, built on trust, which we believe provides the cornerstone for future success."
