Annual General Meeting ("AGM")

The Board of Numis announces today, 2 February 2016, at its Annual General Meeting that Gerald Corbett, (non-executive Chairman) reported:

"2015 was a good year for Numis. Financial performance was strong and we surpassed the record revenues generated in 2014. This led to a 7% year-on-year increase in profitability which enabled us to recommend an increase in the final dividend, bringing the total dividend for 2015 to 11.5p (up 10% on 2014).

This financial performance was underpinned by the strength of our client relationships with both corporates and institutions alike. During a year which saw variable market sentiment, Numis was, once again, at the forefront of equity fund raising in the UK.  The continuing strength of our franchise was demonstrated in the 2015 Thomson Reuters Extel Survey in which Numis was voted Number 1 UK Small and Mid Cap Brokerage Firm by both companies and institutions for the third year in succession. Our financial performance in the year and the strength of our reputation is testament to the quality and commitment of our talented people.  Your Board remains focused on retaining and developing a pool of diversified talent with a shared commitment to the Group's strategic goals.

Since the start of our 2016 financial year we have completed 20 equity finance transactions, including 8 IPOs, together with a number of advisory mandates. While we remain sensitive to recent increased volatility in the equity markets and the wider impact of global economic concerns arising from the Far East, our deal pipeline is strong and includes both fund raising and M&A prospects for the coming year. 

We will continue to strengthen our franchise through a relentless focus on the quality of our people and our corporate client list, servicing our clients well and maintaining trusted relationships with institutions. Our focus on long-term relationships with our clients, built on trust, provides the cornerstone for future success."
