Exercise of Options

The Board of Numis announces that on 19 July 2005, options over 25,000 (0.02%)
ordinary shares in Numis held by the Numis Employee Share Trust ('the Trust')
were exercised. These options were at an exercise price of 43p per ordinary
share and the latest exercise date was 12 February 2012.

Subsequently, the Trust disposed of 25,000 ordinary shares in Numis at 43p per
ordinary share following the exercise of options under the Numis Employee Share
Trust Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

The Numis shares referred to above are Numis' ordinary shares of 5p per share
and the total number of shares in issue is 104,491,583.
