The Board of Numis notes today's press report regarding the possibility of an
offer being made for the Company.

The Board has recently received an approach from a third party regarding a
possible offer, but after due consideration of all the relevant issues has
decided that the interests of Numis' shareholders, customers and staff will be
best served by the Company continuing to develop its franchise as an independent
entity.
