EADS Deutschland and ORAD Agree Partnership in Image Generator Solutions for
Training and Flight Simulation
Kfar Saba, Israel - 7th July, 2005 - Orad Hi-Tec Systems Limited (Symbol: OHT),
world leader in graphics visualisation, virtual sets, on-air graphics and sports
production tools today announces a strategic agreement with leading aircraft
manufacturer and simulation supplier EADS.
Under the agreement, EADS Deutschland GmbH a leading simulation provider and
Orad Deutschland GmbH will work together over the next 3 years in the support
and supply of high end image generator solutions for training and for flight
simulation. The partners will exchange their technology plans and share
resources in key demonstrations, focusing on the military and civilian aircraft
industries.
As a first step EADS simulation acquired its first Orad scalable graphics
cluster for the German Air Force's service and support centre in Manching
Germany for the Euro Fighter programme.
Tim Otte, Senior Manager Simulation at EADS, said: 'We are looking at ORAD as
more than a mere technology provider: their support and close cooperation give
us confidence that our future partnership will be very fruitful '.
Orad's offering uses off-the-shelf technologies in graphics or PC components
together with proprietary elements to offer better antialiasing, performance and
user-friendliness. Using a unique technology of video compositing housed on the
DVG VRX card, PC clusters can be designed with any number of graphic cards
working in parallel to compute an infinite number of polygons and mapped pixels.
The solution offers strong future-proofing, as individual components can be
upgraded as soon as they become available on the market.
In addition the VR-X Cluster Manager offers an easy to use GUI which allows
users to re-configure the number of nodes per channel.
'Such requirements are common to many industries, and this partnership with EADS
shows that military or civilian simulation graphics can benefit from the same
visual features required in MCAD, design or virtual reality markets while not
bearing the cost or time-to-market of a solution targeted purely at their narrow
application' said Guillaume Otrage, Product Manager VR and Simulation at ORAD.
