ORAD Hi-Tech Systems Limited
QVC Purchases Orad's Virtual Studio
New York, May 5 2004, Orad Hi-Tec Systems (Symbol: OHT) a world leader in
virtual studios, on-air graphics and sports broadcasting production tools,
announced today that QVC, the leading home shopping retailer, has purchased
Orad's virtual studio system with its Xync infrared tracking system.
By choosing a virtual studio from Orad, QVC resolved two important issues:
first, the need to rapidly change sets for multiple shows, and second, the need
to provide different appearances of sets for its various products and shows. In
addition to ease of operation, the system features Orad's patented Xync infrared
tracking system, which provides QVC with 360degrees shooting angles and total
freedom in camera movement.
'We are excited about QVC's decision to select Orad's CyberSet system. A
virtual studio provides solutions to many of QVC's unique production
requirements. QVC is one of the most advanced and innovative broadcasters in
the country, and we look forward to developing new and original on-air
applications with QVC,' said Mr. Kobi Shina, Director of Sales, Orad Inc.
'We look forward to the opportunity to incorporate Orad's cutting edge
technology into our program line-up,' said Mr. Tim Megaw, QVC's senior vice
president of Broadcasting and TV Sales.
QVC's purchase of Orad's CyberSet virtual studio with Xync infrared tracking
system will enhance productions emanating from its West Chester, PA studios. As
the leading home shopping retailer, QVC reaches 96% of cable households and 21
million satellite homes in the United States.
