Old Mutual plc (the 'Company') announces that it has received notice today from
Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited that Credit Suisse had a notifiable
interest, for the purposes of Part VI of the UK Companies Act 1985, at 20
January 2006 of approximately 3.04% of the total issued ordinary shares of 10p
each in the Company by virtue of an aggregate holding of 124,398,766 shares held
through the following entities:
Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited 124,353,140*
Credit Suisse International 45,626
* Interest arising by virtue of the right to redelivery of equivalent securities
under stock lending arrangements.
