       Share interests of persons discharging managerial responsibilities


Mr M C Murray, Company Secretary of Old Mutual plc ('the Company'), has informed
the Company of the following transactions in Old Mutual plc Ordinary shares
carried out today:

   •sale of 29,339 shares previously held in his own name or that of his
    nominee at an average price of £1.3478 each; and
   •purchase of 32,500 shares at £1.3495 each via his self-invested personal
    pension.

Following the above transactions, Mr Murray (together with his connected
persons, for the purposes of section 346 of the UK Companies Act 1985) now owns
a total of 32,500 shares in the Company. He also has a contingent interest in a
further 62,077 shares in the Company under the terms of the Company's Restricted
Share Plan.
