Old Mutual plc (the 'Company') announces that it received notice on 13 February
2006, by a letter dated 10 February 2006, that Legal & General Group plc and/or
its subsidiaries had a notifiable interest, for the purposes of Part VI of the
UK Companies Act 1985, in 164,506,029 shares in the Company, representing
approximately 3.22% of the Company's current issued ordinary share capital.
