Old Mutual plc (the 'Company') announces that on 1 December 2006 it received a
notice dated 30 November 2006 informing the Company that Barclays PLC, through
the legal entities listed below, had at 28 November 2006 a notifiable interest,
for the purposes of Part VI of the UK Companies Act 1985, in 5.05% of the
Company's ordinary share capital, represented by an aggregate holding of
277,390,127 shares.
