International Licence Won for On-line Sports

On-Line PLC 11 February 2000 On-line Plc Wins International Licence On-line Plc, the AIM listed Internet company has announced the signing of a major international licence for its games publishing label On-line Sports. Based in Switzerland, the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), is the world body regulating and co-ordinating international motorcycle competitions including indoor and outdoor motorcycle trial events and trial championships in over 80 countries. The FIM has granted the three-year agreement, spanning on-box, promotional and in-game branding to On-line Sports for the forthcoming title XBT (Extreme Bike Trials). The licence covers all territories and formats including PC, DVD, Sony PlayStation and Playstation 11, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Gameboy, Colour Gameboy and Dolphin as well as Internet and broad bandwidth platforms. In addition, On-line has the right to the FIM licence for sequel titles within the three-year time frame. XBT is the second title to be announced by On-line Plc for their On-line Sports label. Michael Hodges, MD of On-line Plc states: 'This is the first major licence we have signed with an international sporting body for this label, and it lends huge credibility to the consumer market place. From a development perspective it means we will receive significant assistance from the FIM about the official bike trial stadiums, accurate motorbike models and liveries, giving the game an unprecedented level of realism.' XBT is already in development and PC and Nintendo Colour Gameboy versions are scheduled for release before Christmas 2000.
