Appointment of Project Coordinator
Oracle Coalfields PLC (AIM:ORCP), the UK developer of a 1.4 billion tonne coal resource in the south-eastern desert of the Sindh Province, Pakistan, today announces the appointment, effective immediately, of Thomas Hawkins as Project Coordinator.
He has also been appointed to a committee set up by Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and Oracle following the MOU signed between the companies. He will liaise with KESC on a regular basis to ensure that objectives are achieved to ensure successful completion of Oracle's Block VI Thar Coalfield Project, Sindh Province.
Mr Hawkins is a construction manager with 33 years of extensive experience of international power generation projects. He has hands on experience of all types of Gas and Steam Turbines, Pumps, Compressors and Rotating Equipment in general, Gas/Oil separators, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Multi-Stage-Flash Desalinations and Reverse Osmosis systems.
Mr Hawkins has held a number of different senior positions including:
· 2008-2010 Project Manager for the erection and installation of Co-Generation Station at
Pakarab Fertilizer Ltd, Pakistan
· 2005-2007 Consultant Engineer for refurbishment of 300MW coal fired power station for
Electricity of Vietnam
· 2003-2005 Construction Manager at combined cycle power plant consisting of 130MW GR
Units in for Jubail Energy Company, Saudi Arabia
· 2001-2002 Site Manager on various construction projects worldwide for Alstom Power
Company, Switzerland
· 1998-2001 Site Manager for the construction of first private power/desalination plant in Middle East for Emirates CMC Power Company, UAE
· 1996-1998 Engineering Manager coordinating all construction and commissioning activities for Stone & Webster, Pakistan
· 1993-1996 Project Manager responsible for construction, commissioning and start up for Mott, Ewbank, Preece, Saudi Arabia
Mr Hawkins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birmingham University and is a member of The Society of Petroleum Engineers, The Institute of Supervisory Management and The Institute of Engineering Inspection.
