Oxford Instruments strengthens Board
Oxford Instruments plc, the advanced instrumentation company, is pleased to
announce the appointment of Professor Michael Hughes to the Board as an
Independent non-executive director, with immediate effect.
Mike Hughes began his career at GEC, before moving to Midlands Electricity plc
in 1990, where in 1993 he became its Chief Executive. In 1999, following its
takeover of Midlands Electricity, he moved to become the Executive Vice
President of GPU International Inc, the American based leading retail energy and
related services provider.
Mike Hughes is the Non-Executive Chairman of EA Technology Limited, the power
asset management company and a Non-Executive Director of South Staffordshire
Group plc, the water support services business. He brings to Oxford Instruments
plc not only valuable industrial experience but also an understanding of
technical and engineering matters.
There are no disclosures required in respect of Professor Michael Hughes under
paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
