OMG plc ('OMG' or 'the Company')
Trading Update
OMG, the global leader in the three-dimensional capture and analysis of
movement, providing tools and services for life sciences, entertainment and
engineering applications, will make the following statement at the Annual
General Meeting to be held today:
'News of OMG's recent acquisition of Peak Performance Technologies, Inc. (9
February 2005) has been very well received by customers, global sales channels
and staff alike. This positive reception increases our confidence that the
acquisition will benefit the group.
Historically, OMG trading in the first few months of the year has not been a
reliable indicator of trends or annual outcome. In the current year, large
variations in trading in markets around the world suggest that this is again the
case. Europe and UK have made a strong start with sustained and growing interest
in the new product releases. Far Eastern markets have started the year more
slowly, but there is evidence that last year's recovery in the important
Japanese market may be exceeded.
However in the US, our largest market, trading has made a slow start after the
record-breaking finish to last year. The sales prospect list is strong but
performance for the half and full year will depend critically on the timing of a
number of major contracts on a similar or larger scale to those of the past two
years.'
