5 April 2001
Oxford Technology 2 VCT has invested £66,667 in Inaplex Technology Ltd (formerly
Simplex Technology Ltd) as part of a total investment of £200,000 alongside
other investors. A further round of £200,000 has been committed by the investors
upon the completion of key milestones. Oxford Technology 2 VCT's investment was
made for new ordinary shares representing about 8.3% of the equity.
Simplex Technology Ltd was established to develop and market a proprietary
information processing system called 'Inaplex'. Inaplex allows organisations to
control the 'semistructured' content of their databases to ensure that all
information within the system is consistent and up-to-date. Specifically, the
system allows users to:
- design their own information hierarchy.
- to control what is stored, where it is stored and who can see it.
- to present other language versions of any information item.
- to access centrally held information using standard office software.
- to distribute selected information across a wide variety of platforms.
The purpose of the investment is to allow the company to begin to market the
software and to establish a network of distributors across various territories.
