Pre Close Period Trading Update
Michael Page International plc, the professional recruitment consultancy,
confirms it remains on track to achieve the current consensus of analysts'
earnings estimates for the year ending 31 December 2003. The Company will be
meeting analysts and investors this week to provide a trading update ahead of
the close period preceding its half year results announcement, due to be
released on 18 August 2003.
On 7 April 2003 the Company reported first quarter 2003 revenue of £42.8m, 3%
lower than the £43.9m in the fourth quarter of 2002. Market conditions continue
to be difficult, particularly in Continental Europe, however activity levels
remain broadly similar to those in the first quarter and, as such, we anticipate
revenues for the second quarter to be no less than the £42.8m achieved in the
first quarter (Q2 - 2002 £51.4m). The Company continues to be cautious about
the short term outlook.
