Planning Permission granted for Bristol Superstore Development
Panther Securities PLC is pleased to announce that the Secretary of State for
Transport, Local Government and the Regions, has given outline planning
permission for Panther's food superstore development at Symes Avenue,
Hartcliffe, Bristol. The proposals include a 69,000 sq. ft. food store with
419 car parking spaces, 10,000 sq. ft. of community facilities, which include
a library and advice centre and 20,000 sq. ft. of mixed use, smaller shop
units.
Panther owns the majority of the existing shopping centre held on a long lease
from Bristol City Council, which owns the freehold and also the extra land
required to accommodate the development. The scheme was called in by the
Secretary of State for his own decision, because of its size and now that this
hurdle has been surmounted, Panther will be seeking to secure a superstore
operator and tenants for the remainder of the proposed scheme.
