INTERREGNUM PLC
£2 million investment in Respond
Interregnum plc ('Interregnum'), the IT investment and advisory company that
floated on the Alternative Investment Market ('AIM') in March, today announces
its eighth investment since flotation: a £2 million equity investment in
Respond UK plc ('Respond'), a customer relationship management ('CRM')
software and services vendor and a UK market leader in complaints handling. 3i
has invested a further £2 million.
Respond has 1,500 customers worldwide including Thomson Global Services,
Barclays Bank plc and Racal Telecom. It has offices in the US and distributes
in Continental Europe and Australia. In the year ended 31 January 2000, the
company generated revenues of £2.7 million.
The funding will be used to expand Respond's international operations,
particularly focusing on the US and Western Europe, and its range of products
and services.
Commenting on the investment, Graham Ransom, Managing Director, Venture
Marketing at Interregnum plc, said:
'Interregnum has worked with Respond for four years to develop its product and
market strategy. Respond is successfully repositioned as a UK market leader
in complaints and response handling software and service and continues to
demonstrate significant growth potential given the increasing demand for CRM
software - especially in the context of ebusiness applications.
'We believe our involvement with Respond clearly demonstrates our ability to
successfully nurture the development of our portfolio companies.'
