DIRECTORATE APPOINTMENT

The Board of Standard Life European Private Equity Trust PLC is pleased to announce that Alan Devine has been appointed as an independent non-executive Director of the Company, with immediate effect.

Alan has spent his entire career working for The Royal Bank of Scotland Group in a variety of senior roles and he is currently CEO of RBS Shipping Group.

The Chairman, Ed Warner, said, "Alan brings significant experience of the banking market, which the Board believes will be invaluable in its deliberations."
