Pennon Group Plc has received notification (by fax dated 18 January 2005) that
on 17 January 2005 Standard Life Investments on behalf of Standard Life Group
sold 300,000 Ordinary shares of £1.11p each in Pennon Group Plc which resulted
in Standard Life Investments having a total holding of 4,824,649 shares in the
Company, representing 3.855%.
