Pennon Group Plc buyback programme in close period



Pennon Group Plc announces that it has entered into an irrevocable and
non-discretionary arrangement with its broker, Credit Suisse, to re-purchase on
its behalf and within certain pre-set parameters Ordinary Shares during its half
year close period. Pennon Group's close period commences on 1 October 2007 and
continues up to and including 28 November 2007.  Any Shares bought back are to
be held in Treasury.


Any purchases will be effected in accordance with the Company's general
authority to repurchase shares and Chapter 12 of the UK Listing Rules.
