Helicopter Accident in Angola
Statement from Adonis Pouroulis, Chairman of Petra Diamonds ('Petra'):
'Petra is greatly saddened to hear from BHP Billiton of the fatal helicopter
accident on Friday 16 November, approximately 80km from the Alto Cuilo camp in
Angola.
'On behalf of the Board and management team at Petra, I would like to extend our
deepest condolences. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy go out to those
families affected by this tragic event.'
All BHP Billiton's operations in Angola have been suspended. A statement about
the incident is available on BHP Billiton's website and all enquiries for
further information should be directed to BHP Billiton.
Petra and BHP Billiton are in joint venture with regards to the development of
two diamond projects in Angola, Alto Cuilo and Luangue.
