                   Appointment of a Non-Executive Director



SOCO International plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ettore
Contini as Non-Executive Director. Mr Contini will serve as a member of the
Audit Committee.

Mr Contini is currently an Asset Manager in the Private Banking department of
Banca del Gottardo in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is on the Board of Directors
of Italiana Energia E Servizi S.P.A (IES).

Both prior to his appointment and presently, Mr Contini has an interest in
10,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company, representing 0.01% of the issued share
capital of the Company.

Pursuant to Rule 16.4(b) of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services
Authority, the Company confirms that there is no further information to be
disclosed with regard to Mr Contini.
