              RESPONSE TO ANNOUNCEMENT BY LOOKERS PLC ('LOOKERS')



The Board of Pendragon notes the announcement by Lookers that it is today
posting its defence document to Lookers shareholders. Pendragon will respond in
due course.

The Board of Pendragon reiterates that it believes that Pendragon's offer for
Lookers is a full and fair one and urges Lookers shareholders to accept the
offer as soon as possible but in any event by 1pm on 27 April 2006.
