Appointment of Directors
Polar Capital Holdings plc (the 'Company'), the specialist asset management
group, is pleased to announce the appointment of two non-executive directors
with immediate effect.
Mr Tom Bartlam has accepted the Board's invitation to join the Board as a
non-executive director and Chairman elect. Mr Bartlam was a managing director of
Intermediate Capital Group plc which he co-founded from 1989 until his
retirement in 2005. He remains on its board as a non-executive director and is
non-executive Chairman of Pantheon International Participations and a non
executive director of Numis Corporation plc and F&C UK Select Trust plc. Mr
Bartlam takes up the position of non executive director on 24 July 2007 and will
become Chairman following the AGM on 19 September 2007.
As announced at the IPO, Mr Hale, the current Chairman will stand down as
Chairman but will remain as a non-executive director.
Mr Hugh Aldous, has also accepted the Board's invitation to become a
non-executive director with effect from 24 July 2007 and to be Chairman of the
Audit Committee of the Board. Mr Aldous is a partner in Grant Thornton and was
formerly a partner in RSM Robson Rhodes from 1976 where he was latterly head of
its financial services team. Mr Aldous is also Chairman of The Eastern European
Trust plc, and formerly Chairman of its audit committee from 1996, a
non-executive director of Innospec Inc, where he has been a member of the audit
committee since 2004, Chairman of the audit committee at Henderson TR Pacific
Investment Trust plc since 2003 and a director of Elderstreet VCT which he
joined earlier this year.
Mr Kary, Chief Executive, commented

that their wealth of experience will prove invaluable in the next stage of the
Company's development. I would also like to pay tribute to Charles who has been
Chairman since 2002 and has played an important and strategic role in the
development of the Company.'

Mr Bartlam was appointed a non-executive director of Homebuy Group plc in May
2006 and resigned in October 2006. On 15 September 2006 Homebuy Group plc was
placed in administration.
