                      Appointment of Group Finance Director

The Board of Porvair are pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher
Tyler FCA as Group Finance Director and Company Secretary with effect from 6
September 2004.

Christopher, aged 41, joins Porvair from Cable & Wireless PLC where he has been
since 1995, latterly as Group Finance Director of Cable & Wireless West Indies.
Previously, Christopher spent 12 years with Deloitte & Touche.
