US Patent for Aluminium Salts Filtration System

Porvair, the advanced materials group, announces that it has
been  awarded a US patent for its Aluminium Salts filtration
system.  This system, which removes chloride salt impurities
from  molten  aluminium, has been developed  over  the  last
three  years, supported by the US Department of  Energy  and
sponsored by Alcoa.

Ben Stocks, Chief Executive, comments :

'This  development solves a persistent problem for users  of
aluminium and further enhances our leading position  in  the
aluminium filtration industry. We expect our Salt Filter  to
underpin   growth   in  Selee,  as  customer   qualification
programmes  get  underway. Ultimately, we see  this  product
generating  an additional $2-3m of revenues per annum,  once
qualification has been successfully completed.'
